Up-and-coming junior Braeden Crews scored 29 points as Bluefield beat Wyoming East 66-53 in the Shady Spring Fall League Wednesday night.

R.J. Hood had 23 points to lead Wyoming East, limited to five players. McQuade Canada, Chase York and Matt Houck were in Florida.

Bluefield improved to 2-0 in the fall league and led 34-31 at the break.

Dae Dae Bishop added 16 points for the Beavers, missing its own contingent of football players and Mark Glenn added 12.

Evan Preece added 16 for Wyoming East, now 1-1.

Three players scored in double figures as Shady Spring turned back Westside.

Stephen Williams led the way with 16 points, Ryan Riffe had 12 and Tommy Williams 11.

Shady was without starter probabe Isaiah Valentine.

Westside, a team that lost seven of its top eight players, was led by that one returnee, Hunter Walters, who has a game-high 23 points. Ethan Blackburn added 10 points in the game.

Oak Hill lost to Graham. In the game Red Devils star Andrew Work was undercut but fortunatley was only sore after the game. Oak Hill is playing without starters DArrick McDowell and  Abe Farrow, a football player as well as key backup and Oak Hill football quarterback Khori Bass.
